Architectural drawings and data on approximately 65 American naval and merchant ships from 1823-74. (Cont) Among the U.S. Navy ships documented are the frigates John Adams (1799), Congress (1841), Raritan (1843), Independence razee (1814), and Constellation (1797); the sloops of war Peacock (1828), Cyane (1837), Dale and Preble (1839), Saratoga (1842), Plymouth (1843), and Germantown (1846); the brigs Dolphin (1836), Truxtun (1842), and Lawrence (1843); the storeships Relief (1836) and Southampton (1845); the steam frigates Mississippi and Missouri (1841); the screw frigate Princeton (1843); and the steam sloops Susquehanna and San Jacinto (1850). Merchant ships include the packet ship Silas Richards (1824); the schooner Isabella (1832); a Philadelphia City Ice Boat (1837); the bark Clarion (1838), one of the first screw steamers to be built in the United States; and the passenger steamers City of Peking and City of Tokio (1874).
